I’m Duncan, founder and lead audiologist here at Blackdown Hearing. I’ve been proudly working in audiology since 2003, qualifying as a Hearing Aid Audiologist under the former Hearing Aid Council. Now, over 20 years later, I remain as passionate as ever about the life-changing impact that expert hearing care can make.
Throughout my career, I’ve held a wide range of roles within the hearing care sector, from clinical audiology and national audiologist training to practice and area management and leading audiology development across the UK and Ireland for a global leader in private hearing healthcare.
In 2020, I founded Blackdown Hearing, creating a calm, welcoming, and fully independent hearing clinic in Somerset where the focus is always on what’s best for you. Whether you're coming to us for a private hearing test or the latest hearing aids in Taunton, I’ll be with you every step of the way.
Before audiology, I served in the Royal Air Force, a time that gave me the opportunity to travel widely and work with some fantastic people (even if it didn’t quite live up to Top Gun!).
When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll usually find me enjoying life in Taunton with my family, taking our spirited Chihuahua for walks, or out exploring Exmoor on my Triumph motorbike.
