If getting to our clinic isn't easy, we can come to you. Home visits are for people across Somerset's TA postcodes who find it hard to travel, perhaps because of health, mobility or not driving.

Arranging a visit for someone you care about?

You're welcome to call or send the form on their behalf and be there on the day. Having a familiar person in the room helps them feel at ease, and you'll hear the results and advice first-hand too.

Your home visit is with Duncan Jury, our lead audiologist. He's HCPC registered, has over 20 years' experience, and looks after every client himself, from the first hearing test to every follow-up.

How a home visit works

Your hearing test at home

Allow up to 90 minutes, so there's time to talk as well as test. We bring all the equipment. All we need is a quiet room, a table and a plug socket nearby.
Your results, explained there and then

We'll explain what the test shows in plain words. If hearing aids would help, we'll talk through the options that suit your hearing and your day. There's no need to decide on the day.
Fitting at home

If you go ahead, we fit your hearing aids at home, usually around two weeks later, and show you and your family how to use and look after them.

A home visit costs our standard appointment fee, plus £25 to cover travel and time. See our prices.

The same £25 applies to any later appointment at home.

Anyone in our area who finds it hard to get to the clinic, for example, because of health, mobility or transport. If you're not sure, give us a call, and we'll talk it through.
Allow up to 90 minutes for a hearing test, and the same for a hearing aid fitting. We never rush, so there's plenty of time for questions.
A quiet room, a table and a plug socket nearby. If you already wear hearing aids, have them ready, along with any letters from your GP or hospital about your ears.
Yes, as long as the room is quiet. Our portable audiometer uses sound-blocking headphones, and we'll help you choose the quietest room before we start. If there's too much background noise for reliable results, we'll tell you and arrange another time.
Yes, and we'd encourage it. It helps to have someone who knows your day-to-day life, and they can hear the advice too.
